Merhawk

I had an idea for a mermaid....it went back to 2006 or so when I did a painting of a fishy looking lady thing...and instead of the glamorized version of half-hottie/half-fish I made her green, with weird markings, and she had gills, no nips, webbed fingers, and instead of hair, she had fin like thingers....

I've been doing a lot of cheesecake art lately and I'm kind of wanting to do other stuff. The comic card work keeps me happy with drawing strong characters, power stuffs, and whatnot, but I do like odd and original fantasy type things also. I kinda miss it sometimes, as, it used to be all I did for a while

Anywho, the idea came out penciled the way I intended, but the end product looks much more sullen or somber than I intended. I didn't do this with any intention of having a deeper meaning, but the more I look at it the more it looks like a really lonely fish reaching for something.

Bonus points for drawing a mermaid with a mohawk made of fins. Go team !
